Parasitism in Fungi


 Welcome all dear student on krishiratna blogs in this blog you will get detail information about Parasitism in fungi in very simple language. 

i)   Saprophytic fungi:-  The fungi obtained their food from dead organic                                                       matter.


ii)   Symbiotic  fungi:- it is the nature of co-operative association of two                                                     dissimilar organisms which mutually benefits each                                                   other and are not antagonistic eg. Lichen , mycorhiza


iii)  Parasitic :- They obtained their food from living tissue of the plant or animal

a) Obligate parasite :- Are the organism which are live entirely on living tissue .They are also called as biotrophs eg. Rust, Powdery mildew and Downy mildew.

b) Facultative Saprophyte :- These are normally parasite but have ability to become saprophytes eg. Smut

c) Facultative parasites :- They are originally saprophytes but have the ability to become parasite when came in contact with the living host plant under favorable environment condition eg. Pythium, fusarium
