Influence of tillage on soil physical properties

1)Pore space:-

-Due  to tillage   pore spaces increases. 

-when the soil is in good tilth the capillary and non capillary pores would be roughly equal this facilitates free movement of air and moisture in the soil and increases infiltration.

2) soil structure:-

-When the soil with optimum soil moisture is subjected to tillage crumb structure is developed which is good structure for cultivation.

- soil structure is destroyed when tillage is carried out at inappropriate soil moisture

3) Bulk density:-

Due to tillage pore spaces increases and bulk density decreases because bulk density is inversely proportional to the pore spaces.

4) Soil colour:-

-Dark brown to dark grey colour of soil is due to organic matter

-Tillage increases the process of oxidation and decomposition due to this soil colour is changed

5) soil water:-

-The amount of available water in soil depends on soil porosity, soil depthadepth random roughness.

-Tillage increases all these factor so soil water is increases.

6) soil temperature:-

-Due to tillage temperature in soil is optimum for seed germination and seedling establishment

-Tillage decreases thermal conductivity and heat capacity
